MONAT Gratitude, the philanthropic arm of MONAT GLOBAL, released the recipient names of its second round of grants as part of its $1 million pledge to close achievement gaps in underserved communities around the world.

– Non-profit organizations receiving grants from MONAT Gratitude are focused on enriching our youth with arts and culture, sports, entrepreneurship and recreation education because we’ve learned that extracurricular activities in these areas promote development of motor, language and social skills. By supporting these programs, we hope to positively impact student outcomes in communities across the globe – said MONAT Gratitude CEO Lu Urdaneta.

Another curiosity… MONAT Global modernizes its distribution process with supply chain partnership. In collaboration with Alpine Supply Chain Solutions, a boutique supply chain consulting company, MONAT Global began operations in its new 150,000 square foot facility in Doral, Florida. The facility’s design, which was completed in part by Alpine Supply Chain Solutions, incorporates these details to modernize and streamline its distribution process:

  • In-line scales to make sure the right quantities and products are picked in each order
  • Auto print and apply stations to increase order processing speed and accuracy
  • Auto carton erectors to eliminate the need for forming and taping cartons
  • Pick-to-light system to improve picking productivity from 80 to 120 lines per hour

– When we made the decision to expand our distribution capabilities, we knew we needed to partner with experts that could see far beyond our immediate needs. We were looking for the most efficient method to achieve our year-over-year growth plans and leverage the skilled labor on-site without the need to increase our employee base. Stripping out manual processes was key. Alpine and Conveyor Solutions, Inc. (CSI), understood our customized needs and served as the creative architects behind a solution packed with clever storage solutions and automated technology allowing us to distribute more product efficiently – comments Matt Warner, MONAT senior vice president and chief operations officer.
