Coway honored by CES Innovation Awards

Coway Co., Ltd. has been named a CES 2023 Innovation Awards honoree by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). This annual competition recognizes groundbreaking technology from around the world and reviews products for their innovation, engineering, functionality, aesthetics and design.

Coway’s Eco-Friendly Paper Water Purifier, which uses a single sheet of paper instead of plastic to create power-free water purification, and Coway’s Everyday Care Bidet, which uses AI to manage user health, were honored in the Home Appliances and Digital Health categories.

– We are honored to be recognized for our innovative technologies, eco-friendly products, and unique services at the CES 2023 Innovation Awards. We will continue to strengthen our global competitiveness by developing innovative, sustainable products and customer experience-enhancing services – said a Coway representative in a statement.

It’s worth mentioning that Coway’s Seoul-based R&D center, the Environmental Technology Research Institute, has received accreditation from TÜV SÜD Korea as a designated laboratory. Coway’s facility underwent a thorough inspection of its test environment, equipment, capabilities, processes and more to receive this certification.

With this distinction, the facility may now test its own products in-house in the fields of microbial testing and hazardous substance testing, and will evaluate and analyze the antibacterial performance of home appliances against bacteria and fungi. This testing will extend to its water purifiers, air purifiers and bidets, and test for volatile organic compounds in mattresses.

This new certification is in addition to Coway’s designation as a laboratory that can analyze the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS), which it earned in 2007. – By receiving further accreditations as a designated TÜV SÜD testing laboratory, we’ve secured more public confidence in our self-assessment standards and have proven our sanitary quality verification capabilities exceed international standards. With this, we’ll continue to innovate safe and healthy products and services – said Park Chan-Jeong, head of the institute.
